Install Miatz as an app (PWA)

How to install the Miatz web app on desktop, Android and iPhone straight from your browser — and what keeps working offline.

  • Put Miatz on your home screen or dock in under a minute, no store needed
  • Get a full-screen, app-like experience with its own icon and notifications
  • Keep already-visited pages readable even when your connection drops

One platform, installable anywhere

Miatz is a full progressive web app (PWA): install it straight from the browser on any device and it behaves like a native app — its own icon, a full-screen window (no browser chrome), and it opens on your Dashboard. Signup is free and open — no entrance exam required; the optional DSAT just places you at the right level.

Install it

  • Desktop (Chrome / Edge): click the install icon at the right end of the address bar — or menu → Install Miatz. It joins your dock or taskbar like any app.
  • Android (Chrome): tap the Install prompt, or menu → Add to Home screenInstall.
  • iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap Share → Add to Home Screen.

That's it — no store, no download, no payment. The same account works everywhere, and everything stays in sync because there is exactly one Miatz.

What works offline

The installed app registers a service worker with a correctness-first caching strategy:

  • Pages you've already visited are cached and stay readable when your connection drops.
  • Static assets (scripts, icons, fonts) load instantly from cache on repeat visits.
  • Anything new while offline shows a friendly offline page instead of a browser error — reconnect and carry on.
  • Live data, sign-in and submissions are never cached, so you'll never see stale results or someone else's data.

Notifications

On desktop and Android, the installed PWA receives web push notifications — review reminders, mentor feedback, streak nudges — and tapping one deep-links to the exact screen. iPhone users get the richest notifications from the native app launching on the App Store; until then the home-screen PWA covers everything else.

PWA or native app?

Use whichever fits: the PWA is available everywhere today; the native iOS and Android apps (launching on the App Store and Google Play) add biometric app-lock, app-icon badges and store-grade push. Your account, streaks and record are identical across all of them.

Frequently asked

How do I install Miatz without an app store?

Open miatz.com in your browser and install it directly: the install icon in the address bar on desktop Chrome or Edge, Install / Add to Home screen on Android Chrome, or Share → Add to Home Screen in Safari on iPhone. No store account or download needed.

Is the Miatz PWA the same as the real app?

It's the same platform — one codebase, one account, identical features. The PWA opens full-screen from its own icon and starts on your Dashboard. The native iOS and Android apps add extras like biometric app-lock and app-icon badges.

Does Miatz work offline?

Partly, by design. Pages you've already visited are cached and stay readable offline, and a friendly offline page appears for anything new. Live data, submissions and sign-in need a connection — Miatz never shows you stale or wrong-user data.

Do notifications work in the installed PWA?

Yes on desktop and Android — Miatz sends web push notifications that deep-link to the right screen when tapped. On iPhone, notifications are strongest in the native app launching on the App Store.

How do I uninstall the Miatz PWA?

Remove it like any app: long-press the icon and remove it on mobile, or open the app's menu on desktop and choose Uninstall. Your account and progress are untouched — they live in your Miatz account, not the device.
