Miatz on your phone — iOS, Android & PWA
Install on iPhone, iPad or Android, set up the biometric lock, push and the app badge.
- The full platform in your pocket — one account, same progress everywhere
- Native extras on iOS and Android: biometric app-lock, push, and an app-icon badge
- Works as an installable PWA on any device, with offline fallback built in
One platform, every screen
Miatz is one live app everywhere: the website, the installable PWA, and the iOS and Android apps all run the same platform with the same account. Signing up is free — and the DSAT placement assessment is optional, there whenever you decide you want to be placed into a cohort.
Installing
- iPhone & iPad — install Miatz from the App Store and sign in.
- Android — install Miatz from Google Play and sign in.
- PWA on iPhone — in Safari, open miatz.com → Share → Add to Home Screen.
- PWA on Android or desktop — in Chrome/Edge, open miatz.com and choose Install app.
Installed either way, Miatz opens full-screen from its own icon and picks up exactly where you left off.
Biometric app-lock (iOS & Android apps)
Want the app private on a shared or pocketed phone? Turn on the biometric app-lock in Account settings — it's opt-in and off by default, and the setting only appears in the native app on devices with biometrics. Once enabled, every time Miatz returns to the foreground it draws a blocking screen until Face ID / Touch ID (or your fingerprint) succeeds. Turning it off is one tap in the same place.
Push notifications
Push is a per-device opt-in: enable it in Account settings and accept the system prompt. The apps use native push (APNs on iOS, FCM on Android); the PWA uses web push. You'll hear about the things worth interrupting for — mentor feedback, reviews landing, streak reminders — and toggling off on one device doesn't touch the others.
The app badge
On iOS and Android, the number on the Miatz icon is what's waiting for you: unread notifications plus today's outstanding items (an unfinished daily plan, an unsubmitted week review, unread bug replies). It matches the in-app bell exactly and updates on launch, resume or an arriving push — clear it by doing the work, and it stays cleared.
Offline
The service worker keeps a cached shell of pages you've visited. Lose signal and recent pages still load; anything uncached shows the offline page until you reconnect, when fresh loading resumes automatically. Occasionally, right after a genuine win, the app may show the system's own review prompt — at most rarely, and never mid-task.
The journey, step by step
| Step | What you do | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Install | Get the Miatz app from the App Store or Google Play — or install the PWA from your browser | Miatz on your home screen, full-screen, one tap from your day |
| Sign in | Use the same account as on the web — signing up is free | Your progress, streaks and plan are identical on every device |
| Lock it (optional) | Turn on the biometric app-lock in Account settings | Face ID / Touch ID or fingerprint guards the app whenever it returns to the foreground |
| Enable push | Switch on push notifications from Account settings | Mentor feedback, reviews and reminders reach you when they happen |
| Read the badge | Glance at the number on the app icon | Unread notifications plus today's outstanding items — cleared by doing, not dismissing |
Frequently asked
Is the mobile app free? Do I have to take a test to use it?
Signing up is free on every platform. The DSAT entrance assessment is optional — it's a placement that decides your starting cohort if and when you choose to take it; you can explore the app without it.
How does the biometric app-lock work?
It's opt-in and off by default. Turn it on in Account settings (it only appears in the iOS/Android app on devices with biometrics). Once on, every time the app returns to the foreground it requires Face ID / Touch ID or your fingerprint before showing anything.
What does the number on the app icon mean?
It's your unread notifications plus what's still waiting today — an unfinished daily plan, an unsubmitted week review, unread bug replies. It's the same count as the in-app bell, and it refreshes on launch, resume or when a push arrives — never by polling.
What happens when I'm offline?
Pages you've visited are cached and load from cache when the network drops; anything uncached shows a friendly offline page. As soon as you're back online, normal fresh loading resumes automatically.
Do I need the app store version, or is the PWA enough?
The PWA gives you the full platform plus web push and offline support. The iOS/Android apps add device capabilities the browser can't: biometric app-lock, the app-icon badge, and native push.
