The Confidence Cone

Forecast the future, then see the uncertainty everyone hides.

most dashboards show a single confident line; this playground refuses to draw one without its cone attached, exposing how much of any forecast slide is guesswork dressed as precision

How it works

What goes in, what comes out

What it does

The learner builds a simple forecast — revenue, demand, headcount — over a historical series using adjustable trend and seasonality knobs, then drags what-if levers like a price change or a lost channel to see it update live. Every forecast line ships with its confidence cone drawn by default, never as an optional toggle.

You bring

tune trend/seasonality knobs, apply a what-if shock, then read the resulting cone

You get

a forecast line with a visible confidence cone, plus a 'how wrong this could reasonably be' band in real units

You control

historical window length, trend/seasonality strength, what-if shock size, confidence level (80/90/95%)
